MEND denies Niger Delta Avengers

Urges Buhari to free brothers Okah, Henry and Charles Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, Sunday, disassociated himself from Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, the militant group that claimed responsibility for blowing up key oil installations in Delta and other parts of the region lately. Spokesman for MEND, Jomo Gbomo, in an e-mailed statement, for the release of arrested Henry Okah and Charles Okah to pave the way for meaningful dialogue on the issue of the Niger Delta, describes the Avengers as a tool in the hands of some elements determined to destabilize the government of President Muhammadu Buhari-. Gbomo MEND said it had no reason to break the unilateral ceasefire of hostilities, which declared 30 May 2014 and Buhari would allow more time to stabilize the country aground by the late regime and directionless former President Goodluck Jonathan.
